February 4, 1978. Before dawn on the shore of Dique La Florida, in San Luis, Argentina. Six men had come for a night of fishing. Three were still awake when an object came down slowly over a small hill and hung there, about 4 metres up. It was shaped like an upturned plate. White light poured from below. Green and red lights alternated above it. A small ladder came down. A tall figure in a shiny, scaly silver suit stepped onto the grass. Pale skin. Short blond hair behind a transparent helmet. He walked toward their boat, smiled, and raised his palms. Then he climbed back aboard. The craft rose north, leaving a glowing trail across the sky.
Dique La Florida is a reservoir about 47 km northeast of the city of San Luis, on Route 9. In February 1978 six men from San Luis went there on a night fishing trip. Pedro Raúl Sosa and his brothers Ramón Armando and Genaro Luis. Manuel María Álvarez, of Aerolíneas Argentinas. Regino Salvador "Ficha" Perroni. Jacinto Eduardo "El Cata" Lucero. They settled on the shore about 100 metres from the Club Náutico y de Pesca. Argentina was under a military dictatorship.
