Canada's aviation authority turns up across four decades of these cases. In 1973 southern Saskatchewan, after RCMP officers chased a mushroom-shaped object, Transport Canada was checked. No aircraft were in the vicinity. The agency keeps CADORS, a database of aviation incidents where crews sometimes log things they cannot identify. The Lumsden Halo of 2015 went in there. No official investigation followed. A year later, Porter Airlines Flight 204 reported an unidentified object over Lake Ontario. Transport Canada reminded the public of its drone rules, with fines up to $25,000. Its first CADORS entry still said the object was not likely a balloon.
