Researcher and investigator Ted Bloecher spent decades cataloguing strange encounters. In 1967 he gathered more than 850 cases from 140 newspapers in 90 cities for NICAP, among them the United Air Lines Flight 105 sighting over Idaho and the Muroc Army Air Field discs. In 1956, working for Civilian Saucer Intelligence, he and Isabel Davis looked into the Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter. Their report on it appeared in 1978. Later, as New York State director of MUFON, he helped Hopkins investigate the North Hudson Park landing. He wrote that case up for the 1976 Center for UFO Studies conference.
