A researcher of earth lights. In the 1980s Paul Devereux mapped the Egryn Lights of 1904 and, on geologists' advice, tied them to the Mochras Fault running almost directly beneath Egryn. The sightings, he found, lay strung out like beads on a thread. He also included the Hornet Spook Light in his 1989 book Earth Lights Revelation. His ideas reached the Wollaton Park Gnomes case of 1979 too, where Earp followed him in proposing earth lights from faults in the coalfield. His theory remains disputed.
