India's space organisation appears in the archive as a scientific voice on strange things in the sky. In 2002, during the Muhnochwa panic in Uttar Pradesh, C.D. Sharma of ISRO judged the extraterrestrial hypothesis unconvincing. Late September 2004. A team from its Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad was studying glaciers in the Samudra Tapu valley when its members reported a strange sighting, and a detailed report went to ISRO among others. In Ladakh, at Pangong Tso, ISRO joined the Army, DRDO and NTRO in searching for an answer to luminous objects. It was asked to send scientists to Leh.
