A zoologist at the University of Tasmania. Dr Eric Guiler turns up wherever the island's mysteries needed a scientist. In 1960 he joined the official party sent to the West Coast Monster, and said plainly that none of them wanted to go, because monsters do not exist. October 1963. He led the Fauna Board's thylacine expedition in the Sandy Cape area, where around 700 snares were reportedly set along a 16 km line at Green's Creek. After Hans Naarding's 1982 sighting near Togari, he was involved in the search near the Arthur River. Rangers found no footprints.
