A researcher and pilot from the Maritime provinces, Don Ledger wrote Maritime UFO Files. In 2001 he and Chris Styles published Dark Object, which claimed the Shag Harbour object moved underwater to Government Point. In 1997 he interviewed witnesses to the 1970 Smith Brothers car-stall encounter at Lower Shag Harbour. He noted that people at very different distances gave the lights the same size. As a NICAP analyst he challenged the aurora and Moon explanations for the 1951 Bethune encounter. Decades later he answered sceptics on the Nighttime podcast about the Twin Shores lights.
