Organisation 6 stories, 1940 to 2007

China's national science academy appears again and again where strange animals are reported. May 1976. After forestry officials met a red-haired Yeren at Chunshuya in Shennongjia, a telegram asking for experts was sent, by some accounts to the academy. In 1977 the academy and Hubei province launched the Northwest Hubei Strange Animal Scientific Expedition, with 110 members from 16 institutions. They found hairs and footprints, but no direct evidence of wild men. In 2007 its Institute of Hydrobiology in Wuhan judged a filmed white animal at Tongling to be a baiji. That same year, academy botanist Fu Dezhi challenged Zhou Zhenglong's South China tiger photographs as staged.
