The wild men of Vancouver Island

For two years the settlers of Vancouver Island kept meeting a hairy man. Four hunters saw him at Horne Lake, a boy met him at the Little Qualicum schoolhouse, canoeists shot at one digging clams at Union Bay and a Kyuquot hunter said he had killed one. The newspapers called him the wild man of the woods. Nobody had yet said Sasquatch.
