The South American wave of 1965

In the winter of 1965 the reports came from the far south. Argentine, Chilean and British crews on Deception Island, Antarctica, watched a lens-shaped object for twenty minutes while their instruments recorded magnetic disturbances. Buenos Aires scrambled Gloster Meteors over the Río de la Plata, a landing left a depression in the ground at Pelluco in Chile, and a Peruvian family met a lit object on the road near Puno.
