The big bird flap

In the first weeks of 1976 the Rio Grande Valley reported a bird taller than a man, with a bat's face and a wingspan that covered a road. Police officers saw it, a man was attacked in his yard, and schoolchildren drew it. In July 1977 a boy in Lawndale, Illinois was lifted off the ground by one in front of his mother.
