Horicon, Wisconsin. 1987. A young family buys a second-hand wooden bunk bed set for $100 and puts it in their children's room. Then the house changes. A clock radio switches stations on its own. Doors slam. A chair rocks with no one in it. The children describe an ugly old woman with long black hair and a glow like fire. Their father, Allen Tallman, watches a fog rise from the bedroom floor and take the shape of flames, green eyes peering out. A voice says: "You're dead." On the night of January 11, 1988, the Tallmans fled. The beds went into a landfill. The mystery never did.
