c. 2011 · Bunloit, north-western shore of Loch Ness, near Drumnadrochit, Highland, Scotland, United Kingdom

Bunloit. On the north-western shore of Loch Ness, above Drumnadrochit. In the spring of 2011, the Wallace family grew afraid to go out at night. One February night, one of their black labradors was attacked in the garden. The vet said it could only get an injury like that if it had been dragged. There was a dead lamb, a large puncture wound on the back of its neck. There were large paw prints, which a friend called cat prints, and a big one at that. Once, Jim Wallace glimpsed a creature just outside the house. He took it for one of his labradors. But the dogs were inside. He looked again, and saw the animal's tail.

Context

Loch Ness is famous for a monster in the water. In 2011, the people of Bunloit were worried about something on land. Bunloit sits on the north-western side of the loch, about 5 km south-south-west of Drumnadrochit, in the Highland council area. Jim and Katrina Wallace lived there with three young children and two black labradors. In May 2011 they told the Inverness Courier about a run of incidents near their home.
