Context
Rosa Buzzini Quattrini was a farmer in San Damiano, a hamlet of San Giorgio Piacentino about 20 km from Piacenza, on the right bank of the Nure. She was married to Giuseppe Quattrini and had three children. After caesarean births and surgery for perforating peritonitis in 1952, her wounds would not heal. She was ill for about nine years.
