Paranormal record / 2005
April 10, 2005. Obdulia Delgado was driving home from work through the Fullerton Avenue underpass beneath Chicago's Kennedy Expressway. She had been praying to Mary for help. On the concrete wall she saw a yellow and white stain. To her, and soon to many others, it was the Virgin Mary. Once word spread, hundreds came. Candles, flowers and written prayers piled up beside the expressway ramp. Police set up barricades. The highway department blamed salt runoff. A man on a bicycle wrote "BIG LIE" across the image. Two car wash workers scrubbed it clean. For twenty years, Our Lady of the Underpass never quite went away.
