All Saints' Day, 1937. Heede, a village in the Emsland. After the evening rosary, four girls aged 11 to 13 stood in the old churchyard beside the parish church. Between two linden trees, they saw a bright light. Then a shining woman stood in it, on a cloud. She wore a golden crown. She held the Christ Child on her left arm. They said she returned every day until 13 November, and now and then for three more years. Thousands of pilgrims came. The Nazi state answered with roadblocks, a police cordon and a psychiatric clinic. The girls were taken away in separate cars. Reportedly, they never changed their story.
