Sighting record / 1968
March 6, 1968. Early morning on the east side of Amarillo, Texas. A truck stop manager on Highway 287 watched something hang motionless in the sky. It looked like the edge of a plate. Then it tilted, showed its face, and sped away into the clouds. Less than an hour later, an Air Force nurse heard a roar like a wind tunnel and stopped her car to look. At the South Gate of Amarillo Air Force Base, a sentry saw a yellow object drop from a dark cloud, turn at a right angle and climb straight back up. Project Blue Book gathered four report forms. NICAP lists it among the cases Blue Book left Unidentified.
