An air force base on the edge of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Inside it lay Manzano, described as the largest underground repository of nuclear weapons components in the Western world at the time. In 1980 the base became the setting for the Manzano sightings and the Paul Bennewitz affair. It surfaces earlier too. November 4, 1957. Kirtland AFB had its own reports, a day after Levelland and a day before the USCGC Sebago sighting in the Gulf of Mexico. In 1960 its 4950th Test Group supplied the JB-57s flown from RAAF East Sale before the Launceston encounter.
