While enroute from Great Falls, Montana, to Fairfield, during the night of 10 Dec 47, a possible rocket sighted was made by Lt Col A. Jones, HQ F-1 and co-pilot (Maj A. A. Agnew). Airplane was cruising at 1300 ft. An unidentifiable object with green and blue flames was viewed for a period of several minutes. It was descending vertically at a very high rate of speed and then went down slightly when nearing the ground. The object was sighted at 2130 o'clock, in relation to the time that the lights were observed.
