NZDF declassified RNZAF UFO files

Dunedin. S.W.2. 5th Nov. 1955. To The Hon. Mr. Shand, Minister for Civil Aviation. Dear Sir: By last week’s press I see where you ordered an inquiry into the sighting of an object in the sky in the North Island. One hears of similar sightings from time to time. I like to know if we have radar in this country if their presence can not be detected. Also could our armed forces take armed action? Also when such sighting are seen in a certain area the local radio station broadcast immediately their presence so that the maximum number of people can see such objects? Yours faithfully
