Dear Price,
The following is an account of the actual events referred to in N.Z.N.B.S. N10/14 dated 18th November.
On Saturday 13th November, the Corin and I were standing on the bridge of the M.V. at that time parked alongside N03 jetty at Napier. An object dropped onto the bridge and on examination it was found to be very light and seemingly made of a skin-like material and broken up hard. Shaped as shown, a circular if viewed from above.
It was concluded to be part of a gutted fish that had swum in the same area and had been picked up by a sea gull and then dropped. It made no sound whatsoever, was of negligible weight, and when thrown overboard floated very lightly. Colour was white with faint traces of blood veins in it, and was blown up so hard as to be non resilient.
The “Flying Saucer Investigator (Napier)” later approached us stating he had witnessed the event, and felt since the object “was not from our ionosphere”. He was humoured and given the above information.
Yours faithfully,
J.S. Jones
