This FBI file, released in July 2021 to John Greenewald Jr. of The Black Vault, concerns United Nuclear Scientific Supplies. The FBI reviewed 165 pages and released 48. A 2008 New York memo asks for a case on an unknown caller who tried to buy a concentrated Polonium-210 solution and asked how to get around NRC licensing rules. A 2010 memo closes that case because no criminality was established. The remaining 2003 and 2004 records cover CART forensic exams of computers received from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Reference: Details: (U) On 08/25/2008, NYO Squad CT-22 was advised of an attempt to purchase a Polonium-210 solution from United Nuclear Scientific Supplies (UNSS) as outlined in the above referenced serial. In that serial, also on 08/25/2008, returned a call from a LNU, a NY registered Verizon Wireless phone number. (U) (LNU) claimed that he wanted to purchase a concentrated solution of Polonium-210.
