This Department of War release, dated 2026-09-18, reproduces a Project Blue Book photo file covering Files 1377 and 1415 on the Tremonton, Utah film. The file records that CPO Delbert C. Newhouse was driving 7 miles north of Tremonton at 1110 MST on 2 July 1952 when his wife noticed a group of objects milling about in rough formation. It notes that there were no reference points and that the images were too small to show detail. The file gives the explanation as pillow balloons or birds and includes a General Mills Research Laboratories photo sheet showing 2 by 2 foot pillow balloons.
