This Defense Intelligence Agency release gathers Army and Air Force intelligence reports on unidentified flying objects from several countries. It contains translated Finnish Border Guard reports of glowing spheres and lights seen near the Soviet border, a Costa Rica sighting near Puntarenas, and Afghan news items from 1959 on bright objects over Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul. Other reports describe objects over Kuldja in Sinkiang, China. A 1969 OSI report from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand concludes that a pilot's ground sighting was probably a religious procession carrying ceremonial drums.

SUMMARY:
1. This report contains information pertinent to an u/i flying object observed near KOS-KUDUK (UL9028) and an u/i construction site near SLAVJANKA (VI6000). Source, an ethnic German resettler, based his information on the u/i flying object on hearsay, vapor trails observed and detonations. He reported only that since Spring 1966 he heard detonations and observed vapor trails coming from the area near KOSKUDUK. An u/i construction site is located approx 2 km from SLAVJANKA at VK6099. A new road was constructed and is used only by military vehicles. Construction began in early 1966. Hearsay indicated that it might be an underground missile installation.
