Unidentified Flying Objects Reports

Defense Intelligence Agency · 140 pages · text by OCR

This Defense Intelligence Agency release gathers Army and Air Force intelligence reports on unidentified flying objects from several countries. It contains translated Finnish Border Guard reports of glowing spheres and lights seen near the Soviet border, a Costa Rica sighting near Puntarenas, and Afghan news items from 1959 on bright objects over Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul. Other reports describe objects over Kuldja in Sinkiang, China. A 1969 OSI report from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand concludes that a pilot's ground sighting was probably a religious procession carrying ceremonial drums.

Observations near Russian Border (D)	EXPLANATION
Transmitted herewith is a translation of a Finnish Border Guard report pertaining to observations of strange illuminated objects in the northern sky during the months of Oct and Nov 84, from the Kajuani Border Guard Bus. Also included are any details and descriptions of the activities of the border guard.
CONCLUSION: This is a special report made by Finland 215 pertaining to the subject above. This report is apparently prepared by special request of the headquarters in Helsinki, as ADA has not given any special high priority to this type of observations, and did not make request for same. Due to the isolated locations of these border guard posts it is not considered probable that these are sightings from established Russian text areas.
