Unidentified Flying Objects Reports

Defense Intelligence Agency · 140 pages · text by OCR

This Defense Intelligence Agency release gathers Army and Air Force intelligence reports on unidentified flying objects from several countries. It contains translated Finnish Border Guard reports of glowing spheres and lights seen near the Soviet border, a Costa Rica sighting near Puntarenas, and Afghan news items from 1959 on bright objects over Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul. Other reports describe objects over Kuldja in Sinkiang, China. A 1969 OSI report from Nakhon Phanom, Thailand concludes that a pilot's ground sighting was probably a religious procession carrying ceremonial drums.

north-east of Kuldja, for an object containing instruments which apparently landed in that area. Some instruments suspectedly were found and detained by Chinese authorities.

These reports are significant in that they lend substance to the possibility of Sino-Soviet military/secret testing in Sikhilang Province. While the objects being jet aircraft is not discounted, it is noted that, in reporting officer's knowledge, interrogation reports of weapons from the Boulder area, or from contiguous areas in Sikhilang Province, have not made mention of the presence of jet aircraft.

While enacting from different sources, observing from different locations in the vicinity of Kulda, the information obtained above is necessarily consistent in date, time of day, and description. Collection among the these sources point to the interrogations is not evident.

These are discontinuities in the reporting on weight and direction of flight of the object (a) which misses the possibility that several, rather than one object, pose a concern.

One of the sources (Report 1907) noted that "on the bank of one of the youth's knowledge, no such phenomenon had been seen in that part of the world either before or since that time, at least up until the moment of his own departure in early March 1939". The other two sources have of no one else who had witnessed this phenomenon. This may indicate that miscellia/mystery possesses in this annual i.e., within the year and a half.

The launching of balloons in the general area of the object sightings may be related to upper atmosphere research in connection with small/medium testings.
