M45-1-101 March 22, 1968 Mr. A. F. McQuarrie Officer in Charge Department of Transport Weather Office Gonzales Observatory Victoria, British Columbia Dear Mr. McQuarrie: Thank you for your letter of March 14. I will acknowledge Mr. Corey’s observation. His photograph looks like a typical star trail to me but there may have been some other origin for the light. I will make some suitable comments in my reply to him. Please note that my address is simply: Dr. Peter M. Millman National Research Council Ottawa 7, Ontario We have just recently taken on the responsibility for filing and cataloguing all reports of sightings in the sky that come to the Government. Apart from the fireball and meteor reports, we do not solicit unidentified object reports and we only investigate reports that seem to be of scientific interest. Sincerely yours, Peter M.
