The Air Force publishes "The Roswell Report: Fact versus Fiction in the New Mexico Desert"

In 1995 Headquarters United States Air Force published "The Roswell Report: Fact versus Fiction in the New Mexico Desert", reproducing the report Col. Richard L. Weaver and 1st Lt. James McAndrew had prepared for the Secretary of the Air Force and the General Accounting Office after Representative Steven H. Schiff asked about an alleged 1947 UFO crash in New Mexico. Weaver's report, dated 27 July 1994, came with 33 attachments, among them McAndrew's synopsis of balloon research. The publication states that the Declassification and Review Team found no evidence of any extraterrestrial craft or alien flight crew, and it attributes the debris recovered near Roswell to Project MOGUL, a formerly Top Secret balloon project.
